The Mission
At the the Voorhees Arts Commission, our favorite events to host bring individuals and communities together to spread positivity, appreciation, and love. Enter Amy Bash, a military spouse, and artist with the Voorhees Arts Center and Gallery. Amy started an event called Healing Art for a Hero’s Heart to show gratitude to deployed members of the military and veterans.
A call to action to spread appreciation and positivity and to honor those who serve and sacrifice for our country.
Healing Art for a Hero’s Heart is a unique event that combines art, community, and gratitude. It’s a free watercolor class open to all members of the community ages 8 and up. Participants are encouraged to create cards depicting various themes but always include words of gratitude. The completed art is then sent to soldiers around the globe, local active-duty military men and women, and local veterans through the Military Support Group of NJ.
Amy’s event is not just about honoring her husband’s service, but also about using her skills and passion to make a positive impact in her community. Her initiative has inspired many others to join in and help make a difference. Healing Art for a Hero’s Heart is a reminder that even small acts of kindness can have a significant impact on individuals and communities.
